Vintgar gorge

 Visiting vintgar gorge today. 

We were going to walk up to it - 5km - but it poured yesterday morning and last night so we are catching a taxi. Early start before any of the buses or shuttles get there to avoid the crowds. 

There was no one there when we arrived at 7:50 but by the time we had ambled along passed the first few rapids there were people behind us. 

The rapids are huge and the pictures don’t show the height of the drops or the power of the water pouring through tiny spaces.

Slap Sum - Waterfall Sum:

Walked through the forest to St Katherine’s Church. We were looking forward to a heart breakfast at the restaurant next to the church but it didn’t serve food until 11am so we just had coffee. 

We walked back to Bled through interesting streets. 

One of the historic bay drying racks - you can’t knock them down but I didn’t realise so many people use them as wood stacks. 

Lunch at Pe Arna where I had a gluten free croissant with prosciutto and salad. Ronnie had a chicken and salad roll. Very nice. 

Dinner at Murka Restaurant which serves Slovenian food and is full every night with locals and tourists.
