Bled

A tour to see Skifja Loka and St Primoz church cancelled today de we are going to climb Mala Osijnica for a view of the lake.  

About 200m into the walk to the Mala Osijnica lookout we realised last weeks heavy rain had taken its toll on the track.  We don’t have hiking shoes with us and we were slip-sliding everywhere so we had to abandon our attempt to reach the summit. 

So we stuck to the lovely paved lake walk which is nice even in the rain. 

Raining today. Apparently this is the oldest square in Bled: 

Marijina Kapela - Little Mary's Chapel - is located at an altitude of 476 meters above sea level. It’s on the square above about 2 mins walk from where we are staying. 

We are very lucky to have chosen this area of Bled known as Grad (but that is Slovenian for Castle so maybe it’s just the area around the Castle). It is very quiet here and has beautiful houses and is close to the Castle and we are also close to the centre which is accessible by a beautiful part of the Bled Lake walk.

Dinner at Mega Burger (traditional Slovenian food, I’m sure.) which has gluten free and is highly recommended.
