Sanur

Mount Agung is fully out this morning!  Apparently a rare occurrence. We are wondering if it might be like the MZ Pukeko story.
Today’s entertainment! I don’t think they go very fast!
Griya for lunch.
From here you can see what used to be the Sanur Hyatt where we came everyday trying to escape Kuta when I was a student. It’s now called the Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel. It’s currently being renovated.

Sunny morning

Thunderstorms overnight cleared to a lovely morning. Some super keen couples among us walked out to the little nature reserve island at the end of the beach before having our early morning coffee/iced chocolate at Kopi Patani coffee shop.

Halloween decoration on a cappuccino.
The weather forecasts are a lot worse than the weather we actually get.

At breakfast we noticed our room number on a piece of paper as we entered the breakfast area. When we asked why the staff member said it’s because I’m gluten free. As soon as I enter a message is sent to the kitchen and where I’m sitting is noted and GF bread is brought to me. All without a word being said. Incredible service here and all the staff are incredibly welcoming and diligent in ensuring every need is unobtrusively met.

Ronnie, Shayne, Cressida and Jane all did an hour of aqua aerobics.

Perfect spot for lunch:

After we’d finished lunch overlooking the ocean it started to rain so we retreated to The Kopi Petani coffee shop to wait it out. Lovely and warm, though, so the rain is interesting rather than devastating.

Dinner at Sorrento restaurant with Tim Woorych.

Beautiful Nusa Dua!

Melia Bali Nusa Dua is 11 acres of tropical gardens with pools and ponds and fountains and lovely buildings on the beach front.

We chose all inclusive which means we have a choice of 5 restaurants and cafes at anytime of the day. It’s going to take some willpower to ensure we don’t over drink or overeat because the food is fabulous and the service is excellent.

Shayne and I spent an hour in the pool doing aqua aerobics today. The instructors were so good that the initial group of 3 ended up including about 15.

The beach:

Lunch at the Sateria restaurant on the waterfront.
Dinner at the Sateria restaurant with a beach fire and fireworks.

Bali for a warm break

Leaving for Bali today for 2 weeks with the pilgrims.

Hopefully it will be like this.
And not like this.

Either way it will be warm which will be lovely.
