Yellowstone Lake - still a bit hazy from the morning or from local fires at
Pumice Point:
The great thing about the Upper, Middle and lower basins around Old Faithful is that they don't smell of sulphur, so we had a lovely, but tiring day walking around all the geysers and pools.
Crowds waiting for Old Faithful:
Old Faithful was perfectly behaved and erupted about 1 min after the exact predicted time.
You think "Yeah, yeah this is another touristy thing you have to do..." But it was amazing. It far exceeded expectations. It was huge and powerful and went for more than 3 minutes.
Comet Geyer:
Daisy Geyser:
Grotto Geyser:
This is two geysers going together.
Spa Pool:
Morning Glory Pool:
Giant Geyser:
Smoking but last erupted in 2015, unfortunately.
Chromatic Pool:
Excelsior Crater Pool.
The geyser hasn't erupted since the 1800's but the pool is lovely:
Grand Prismatic Spring:
The photo doesn't really do this pool justice. The lookout where you could look down from above the pool was closed for construction so we could only view it from the board walk at the pool level. Still stunning.
