Sydney to Johannesburg, South Africa with Qantas.
Coffee addicts were very pleased that Peter opened Earnest Arthur’s cafe just for us even though it was only 4:30am. Then we took the Airport Express to the airport. Exactly 2hrs door to door and no parking problems! 12 hour flight today.
Qantas food and service onboard was great.
Arrived in Johannesburg and it took 1 and 3/4 hours to get through passport control and then we went to an empty luggage carousel - our group’s luggage and the luggage of a few other travelers were forwarded onto the next destination a day early. We think this happened because we had to print our own luggage tags which included todays and tomorrows flights!
Thankfully the transport people waited for us all.
Staying at the Safari Club. A gated hotel with thatched rooves. Made of grass rather than reed so they only last about 5 years.
Having a quick (I hope) dinner and then crashing!
