Day 21 - Orkney - 6 June

Didn't realise how fantastic Doug, our driver/guide, was until we changed to a dour Scot! No music, no myths and legends, no humourous stories of the silly questions guides get or the pranks the play on tourists. Just the facts. Makes such a difference!

From Inverness on east coast road to John O'Groats village which has the dubious distinction of having been voted the 2nd most disappointing tourist attraction in the United Kingdom.
Ferry to Orkney where the Picts were established.

Italian Chapel built by the Italian Prisoners of War here in the second world war.

Then onto the viking stronghold of Kirkwall and its St Magnus cathedral built in 1137.
